Canada and the United States have Constitutions; Mexico has a newer Constitution whose sovereignty has strengthened since the Mexican-American War(s). Although Americans may generally be “assholes” when it comes to acquiring land, we’re “civilized” assholes. Let’s stay civil even if we are assholes.
