Dear Kirby and Darcy:

The self-publisher didn’t want me stepping on Bush’s toes with his new book on 41 so I’m attempting to rewrite the book in a Gulliver’s Travels type fantasy with historical elements but without “naming names”. Dresman wouldn’t like the translation because I use the past tense, but I cannot visualize any other way to do it unless I add English conversation. Shall I scrap the whole book and reduce it to ideas and outline completely different prose?

No hurry, I don’t know what I’m doing, but having the TIME of my life.

Love,

John & Lucia Rubens

Father May I?

We begin by recalling some of the major political events that took place prior to the Surgensee Revolution of 1978-1981:

Doctor Moe-Moe led the people of Surgensee from 1950-1953 as the Prime Minister. Moe-Moe supported a populist, inclusive government but his administration became increasingly criticized because the population of Surgensee was disjointed and spread out over a large geographical area. The governing seat of Surgensee was the metropolis of Palmed, and rulings from Palmed affected every Surgenseean, even if they lived thousands of miles away. As a result, many opponents of the Moe-Moe Administration grew dissatisfied and openly vocal about the incessant compromising that had to be done in attempts to satisfy every stakeholder and citizen of the country. The huge oil companies of United Corporate [UC] could not stand the laissez-faire arrangement of Moe-Moe’s government and decided to overthrow him with a coup d’etat. United Corporate supported a coup because they wanted to bring in the former leader of Surgensee, Poo-Bah, to a dictatorial government that would allow UC greater influence in the ways and means of petroleum procurement. The new government of Surgensee would be hailed as a modern-day renewal of the Common Concept of Mutual Interest [CCMI] between Surgensee and UC, which had been strained for as long as anyone could remember.

The logistics of the 1953 coup d’etat were spear-headed by the Central Wombat Agency [Wombat] of United Corporate, in conjunction with the disaffected youth of Surgensee. Demonstrators shouted taunts, degrading the name of Moe-Moe and gave praises to Poo-Bah throughout the day and night of the insurrection. The relentless distraction of the riot, and Moe-Moe’s misplaced trust in the lawfulness of the assembly allowed the demonstrators into Dr. Moe-Moe’s compound where they proceeded to kidnap and subsequently incarcerate him indefinitely. The success of the coup made the return of the Grand Poo-Bah after years of hiding in South Postureland to regain the Imperial Throne of Surgensee imminent. The Grand Poo-Bah had plans to lead his “neo-progressive” nation forward once again, as he had before the last Great War.
