#RefugeeStatus: I had a vision when I was almost 16, we were all in a refugee line waiting for #fauxburgers in the direct sunlight. I saw yellow and red as I waited behind two women who were complaining. One of them kept looking back at me as if I was intending to cut in front of them in the queue. I saw the burgers we were waiting for–they looked like McDonald’s burgers but were synthetic. There was no water while we stood in line, but I remember only being extremely hungry, not thirsty in the oppressive heat.
In the same vision, I recall it was an era of unbridled hedonism where teens would take mysterious drugs and seek endless thrills on amusement park joyrides without any appreciable care for its downside–it led them in circles to decay.
