Marc Andreessen majored in computer science because he wasn’t doing well in electrical engineering. In its fledgling stage, computer science was wide-open and if he wasn’t interested in the curriculum being taught or the people he interacted with on campus, he often dozed-off or didn’t show up to class at all, preferring to to research behind his professors’ backs.
