I’ve watched the Dodgers win and I’m watching them lose. In the words of my Babe Ruth manager Bob Baker, “Guys we won 6 straight, now we’re not that good. Then we lost 6 straight, now we’re not that bad.”
We went on to win the city championship. But this isn’t about me, it’s about the soul of a team. The desires of every individual player and the importance of captains to guide the team in the dugout besides the manager and coaches. Kershaw can’t do everything.
He’s there somewhere. Maybe it’s someone as innocuous as Trayce Thompson or as unexpected as Kendrick.
