In attempting to physically grasp too much, we look like a species of new world monkey with his prize stuck in a glass jar.
A species of monkey will not let go of the item he has grasped inside a space, like a jar to allow himself to remove his now empty fist. He is indefinitely connected by his hand to the jar with his prize [reward] in hand.
Greed or the will to [“get ahead”, “keep up with the Jones'”] can lead to a deluded perspective played out grasping riduculously at unsustainable wealth.
Have you ever had an inordinate number of things to do all of which were of a degree “important” chores or tasks for the day.
Sometimes I don’t choose one and stall. Sometimes one of the chores will fall away, off my plate.
In aviation too, we stall if we climb too steeply, too slow. Icarus flew too high with his wax wings toward the sun.
