But Mr. Trump…

“You can call me Mr. President.  Has a nice ring to it don’t you think John?”

JOHN: [sinking feeling, but too brief to be sad]

TRUMP: What, John, you “#withher”?

JOHN: Only in my dream.

TRUMP: Dream?

JOHN: A blonde, blue-eyed dream. Then she was gone.

TRUMP: That’s what I want to talk to you about John.

JOHN: Later gator. You got some bigger fish to fry–the swing states. I bet Hillary’s getting into Billy and Franklin Graham’s dreams if she got into mine.  Charlotte, North Carolina has the Billy Graham compound–I think there’s a museum on site.  You think you and Hillary could get invited there?

@RyanLochte It was #performanceart #FreeNationalParks [This weekend only] #PayUpTwitter, Unsolicited @ClassicalKUSC @BrianKUSC

Dear Ryan:

I’m a suspended attorney in Los Angeles. I was having a bloody mary and thought the breaking of the mirror as performance art considering Operation Car Wash and you being at a service station.

Hermann Hesse wrote his masterpiece Steppenwolf in which the protagonist breaks a mirror and starts laughing at his reflection.  So serious…[perspectives]…so hilarious. Laugh at oneself.

I viewed the film Animal House for the first time at Santa Clara University School of Law as a transfer student my second year. I was playing rugby and we appeared in the talent show.  Something similar happened as the show was dull. Sometimes we spice it up where it’s far from appropriate, but it’s worth it in the end to live and tell the tale.

Make funny.–Sigmund Freud

Who are you?–The Who

We have a magic theater inside us, let Jesus take the helm. –Hermann Hesse & John Rubens

Review of a #BookReview @ForeignAffairs at 188 #Dadaab via #Mogadishu “#CityofThorns: Nine Lives in the World’s Largest Refugee Camp”

Africa–Dadaab, Kenya; Mogadishu, Somalia

City of Thorns: Nine Lives in the World’s Largest Refugee Camp by Ben Rawlence. Picador, 2016 400pp.

Foreign Affairs Review by Nicolas van de Walle, Sept/Oct 2016 at 188

Keep the pressure on the Clinton Foundation.  Provide refugees shelter from the storms but not access to infiltration beyond our shores.

Immigration is immigration, refugees are at first, trespassers. Attenuate the taint. First the refugees have the burden to prove they are assimilatable before they are inserted into the general population.

#EndingEndlessWar [Article Review] @ForeignAffairs Sept/Oct 2016 Issue, Vol. 95, No. 5 at 36 by #AndrewJBacevich

I enjoyed the article for its easy reading and general overview of American military posture since World War I.  I appreciated the tidbits like President Obama’s “Don’t do stupid stuff” doctrine at 38 and the author’s view the United States ultimately and pragmatically withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO].  Although the thrust of Bacevich’s article is helpful, his proposals are not as agreeable as its overview of American military policy since “9/11” are brief and comprehensive.  Bacevich knows what he knows well and ventures into unknown territory, so he can’t be faulted for some of the more novel advice.

As far as the people of the United States not being adequately involved in U.S. wars since the selective service draft was abolished in the 1970’s, Bacevich bases his presumption of a disconnect on George W. Bush’s admonition to “enjoy life, the way we want it to be enjoyed.” I can only bristle at the suggestion #43 would have us abdicate our duty to be conscious of U.S. wars and “surges” when he proposed we continue with our daily routines and not to change our shopping habits immediately after 9/11.  Although not exactly an Easterner, #43 has lived there long enough to make me biased against him and his policies on waging an East Coast incursion into the Middle East, after all, New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia were hit.  Why were they hit?  A Wall Street deal gone bad? What regional behavior will Americans continue to tolerate which lead the entire nation into aggression at home or abroad?

Some might say “We the People” have little choice against the military industrial complex. John Adams once wrote, “The executive power is properly the government; the laws are a dead letter until an administration begins to carry them into execution[,]” John Adams (2001) by David McCullough at 378.  “We the People” must exercise our rights too or the part of the U.S. Constitution we ignore, no matter what the color of our national security code at any given time: green, yellow, orange or red, are a “dead letter” to us.

Having lived in California most of my life, I have fanciful ideas of my own, like moving the U.S. Capitol to the Denver, Colorado area, or at least the military component of the Federal government.

Thank you for your continued service Andrew J. Bacevich.

The Doctor said I’d die in about 7 years, that was about 6 months ago.

The way I feel, he could be right.

What do I want to leave as a momento of my life? How will I inspire having no known children?

Gail Eichenthal might tell me to “Be nice John!”

It does take less muscles to smile… .

“We want tenants, good paying tenants.”

Re: Trump Immigration Relocations

“What about white collar crime in high-rise office buildings Mr. Trump?”

“They don’t wear white collars much anymore. You’ve got to give people a chance. You’ve got to give them a leg up sometimes.  How about you?”

“Don’t like high-rises or global warming Mr. Trump.”

“Okay, to each his or her own.”

#ThePiedPiper: “Your Children Are Mine @POTUS.” @ClassicalKUSC #Morant

“[T]he old ideal of devotion to the public good had been supplanted by rampant avarice; the love of country, by a love of luxury.”

“Money, wrote James Warren bitterly, was all that mattered anymore. ‘Patriotism is ridiculed,’ he had warned Adams. ‘Integrity and ability are of little consequence’.”

John Adams (2001) by David MCullough at 398
