Wonder in the World

Examen of St. Ignatius

I pray for the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit so that I can see Jesus, others, myself, situations and concerns as does God the Father.

I thank God for gift(s) received.

I reflect on how I have been attentive, helpful and caring to God, others and self.

I reflect on how I have not been attentive, helpful and caring to God, others and self (improvements, adjustments, fruits of spirit).

I thank God for being with me everyday, and helping me grow in love of God, others and self.

Boats R Old School Heroic: Re: Ellison

How is stock price in dollars important. Isn’t share price contrived by market makers? [re: shares outstanding, balance sheet value of company] For instance, stock splits can change the share price. What are the parameters of a FB IPO?/secondary “new” shares issued and splits? All for the options and derivatives market correlation and to keep things orderly, organized. But what about computers that can create “order”?

Yeah, pontoon boat for the masses. Oracle will be the first ones to meet the boat people and get them to shore. Ellison would go down in history as a hero: it's what he really desires.

Re: Television Commercial with Iceberg juxtaposed to Sahara

Dear Kathleen:

Yeah, it could have been a joke, but not to me. More like alchemy. Like the Devils vs. the Kings. My favorite childhood heroes could contend outside their element. P.S. I’m scared Penguins will conquer Kings. If so, I want a rematch.

Schiller Meets Volcker

@Kathleen_Hays Matt Miller had “Josh” on Rewind last night re: housing crisis. I wrote I first was convinced of the implosion when you interviewed Professor Schiller of the Case/Schiller index on or around October of 2006. He predicted massive defaults in August of 2007. Guess what? Josh said he predicted the crash well before that and wrote about it as early as 2001.

The Volcker Rule Expanded

The Volcker Rule is a specific section of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act originally proposed by American economist and former United States Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker to restrict United States banks from making certain kinds of speculative investments that do not benefit their customers.[1] Volcker argued that such speculative activity played a key role in the financial crisis of 2007–2010. The rule is often referred to as a ban on proprietary trading by commercial banks, whereby deposits are used to trade on the bank’s own accounts, although a number of exceptions to this ban were included in the Dodd-Frank law.[2][3] The rule’s provisions are scheduled to be implemented as a part of Dodd-Frank on July 21, 2012[4], with preceding ramifications.[5]
