COMMENTATOR 1: That’s as rare as a 1-3-4 double or triple play!

COMMENTATOR 2: I’m a Dodger, not a NorEaster Nomar.

COMMENTATOR: We don’t respond to you because we don’t have to.

VIN SCULLY: Sisyphus lives, Socrates died.

JOHN RUBENS: Johnny Porkchop[s] is a roving restaurant and he’s not a “yes” county for women.

VIN SCULLY: Competition, the dialectic and eternal life. Baseball fights boredom.

JOHN RUBENS: No, it’s you Vin! You guys, Joe Davis, Nomar, Orel, Colletti, Hairston Jr., Alanna Rizzo, LaSorda, John Hartung, the new gal, Tony Gwynn Jr, all the players and Dave Roberts et al. who take us away from the lack of things to do besides cleaning.

VIN SCULLY: Are you cognizant?

JOHN RUBENS: Of what?

VIN SCULLY: Ever hear of the one where they said ‘He’s just an old man who kept on the sea.”

JOHN RUBENS: ‘The old man and the sea’ by Hemingway?

COMMENTATOR: We don’t respond to you because we don’t have to.

See, Rebecca Goldstein’s work in The Science of Philosophy.

See,”Out of My Later Years”, Chapter 14: “The Fundaments [sic] of Theoretical Physics” at 100-101 by Albert Einstein [Wing Books, 1993].

“These spatial states, today called [electromagnetic] fields, if their geometrical structure and interdependent action were once rightly grasped, would…furnish the clue to the mysterious electromagnetic interactions.” Describing Faraday’s “qualitative concept of the whole complex of electromagnetic effects discovered by him and his predecessors.” at 101.
